Dr. Robert McMahon is a clinical psychologist who specializes in treating adolescents, adults, and couples. He works with clients with a range of concerns including stress, depression, anxiety disorders, sleep disorders, substance abuse, attention problems, and relationship concerns. He also counsels those going through issues such as life transitions, divorce, trauma, and college adjustment. He has twenty years of clinical experience in the field of psychology.
Dr. McMahon's clinical experience includes training at the La Jolla Center for Neurological Development - Springall Campus, Excelsior Academy of San Diego, AIDS Response Center in San Diego, Charter Hospital/API in San Diego, and post-doctoral work at UC Davis Department of Psychiatry. In addition to his private practice, he is a guest lecturer at Alliant International University and a clinician at the department of corrections. Dr. McMahon has also served as adjunct faculty at Sacramento State University (CSUS) where he lectured on abnormal psychology, adolescent development, professional ethics, and the psychology of stress.
